Permalinks are the permanent URLs to your individual weblog posts, as well as categories and other lists of weblog postings. A permalink is what another weblogger will use to link to your article (or section), or how you might send a link to your story in an e-mail message. Recently I read an interesting article by Case Steven of CaseStevens.com . In his article he outlines several wonderful tips on website design rules that will help blog owners attain high search engine ranking, which of course will help them to get more visitors and making the blog more profitable. He started his article with a remark that while millions of people run some sort of website, only a few – it’s estimated at only 1% to 2% – are really successful in accomplishing what they want on the Net. According to Case, the main reason for this is the lack of well defined goals and the necessary focus to achieve them. He added that a great plan goes a long way and part of a good plan is web design.

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process getting your website ready to be found in organic web searches. By organic searches, I’m referring to web searches that appear naturally as the result of a search for a particular keyword or phrase, rather than appearing in the sponsored links (pay-per-click advertising) section of a search page.
