When I was a young boy I was inspired to be a rocker. I wanted to be in a rock n’ roll band like Kiss, Bon Jovi, Gun N’ Roses, Search and others. Since I was a shy boy, I know I won’t be the front man of a loud heavy-metal rock n’ roll band, so the only way to get in is to play the instruments. Like sports where I can’t decide which sport I should concentrate, I also couldn’t decide which instrument I should play too. I learned guitar, bass, piano and organs but ended up going nowhere. In the end, I SUCKED when it came to playing all those instruments. But one thing for sure, I know a good musician when I hear one, especially when it comes to those who play the six strings on a rock n’ roll band.
During my school days, kids my age who play guitar mostly idolised Swedish guitar god, Yngwie J Malmsteen. Fender was selling guitars like hot cakes those days with local guitar hero, Man Kidal also using the same brand. I was just one of those who were not into speedsters like Yngwie, McAlpine or Vinnie Moore, yet, I still listened to them since my best pal love them very much. Me, I was just into some kind of Hendrix’s school of thought – The Van Halen, Steve Vai and Slash type!
