Ohh, FINALLY, after four years’ wait, the biggest show on earth is finally back to please its fans all around the globe. As the host nation, South Africa and Mexico prepare to kick start the 2010 World Cup, football fever has started spreading across Malaysia like an epidemic. In villages, schools, shops, offices or city, the main topic of discussion is the World Cup even though the Malaysian team is not one of the 32 finalists. Some have even gone overboard by replacing their old TV with new 42” HD plasma and subscribing to Astro Beyond.
Meanwhile, the authorities are also busy preparing for the World Cup. The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) has set up a special TASK FORCE to curb ILLEGAL online betting for the World Cup which will begin today. According to Deputy Home Minister, Datuk Lee Chee Leong, The Home Ministry will not hesitate to take stern action on betting syndicates as well as individuals found guilty under the Open Gaming House Act 1953, Betting Act 1953, Computer Crime Act 1997 and the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
