cheque One Year Old ChequeIs there any cheque with a validity period of more than six months? Although not very often that you’ll see one these days, it does exist. I myself, recently, deposited a one year old cheque. The cheque was dated 4th April 2008 and I deposited it into my account on 28th March 2009. As stated above a cheque is normally valid for six months from the date of the cheque, nevertheless, the one year validity period of my cheque is clearly printed on the face of the cheque [See picture]. I have checked my account yesterday and found that the cheque has been cleared and the amount have been credited into my account. For so long I’m not aware that I have been keeping the cheque in my diary. I must have been very busy the day that I received the cheque, so I just slipped the cheque into my diary and forgot about it altogether. I’m happy to see it again after one year and although the amount is small, I could use it as petrol money for a few days.
