I got this lovely message from my sister this morning: “Salam, my name is Sya’ban. I am advising you that my neighbour Ramadan will be visiting you soon with his wife Rezeki and two children Sahur and Iftaar. They will be accompanied by three grandchildren Rahmat, Barakat and Toubat. They will leave after thirty days by Eid Airlines. Treasure them and you will be blessed. Ramadan Mubarak – may the coming Ramadan bring lots of Nur in your life. Ramadan-Kareem. Bersama merindui kedatangan Ramadan. Let’s make it the best ever“.
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. Muslims believe that the Holy Quran was revealed to Prophet Mohammad during this month, and due to its sanctity, it is considered an appropriate month to fast. Ramadan is a time when all Muslims are called upon to exercise self restraint and devote much time to the worship of Allah (God). For this, Muslims all over the world fast from dawn to dusk, during which time they must abstain from consumption of food and drink, bad behaviour, bad language and spend their time exploring their religious teachings and meditate. Happy New Year! It feels like I wrote my blog posting for New Year 2009 just yesterday and here we are ready to wave goodbye to another year of our lives. I still remember I was busy preparing for the arrival of my 5th child 12 months ago as my wife who faced pregnancy complications safely delivered our baby 5 days later. It was one of the highlights in 2009 for us and certainly our most joyous moment. Many thanks to all warm wishers in this blog and I’m glad some of them are still finding time to drop by this blog from time to time. Thank you very much.
2010 will mark my 3rd year as a blogger as this blog enter its second year in blogosphere. As a blogger I know that I still have much to learn and I am determined to improve myself and come up with better quality and useful postings in the future. I’m glad that this year my wife is joining me writing on blogs ending a 2 year sojourn from blogging after just a few postings in 2007.
